The annual Hacks v Flacks charity cricket match, organised by FTI Consulting, saw journalists take the honours against their communications rivals on the 22nd of September, in a contest full of good humour, sharp strokes and the occasional wide delivery.
This annual cricket match pitches the sharpest pens of the press against the smoothest spin of the comms world, and this year it was the Hacks (journalists) who had the final world – clinching victory after a spirited contest.
Thanks to the generosity of players, sponsors (Lloyds Banking Group and Market International, The Fidelis Partnership, Panmure Liberum, and Emperor), and spectators, the event raised an impressive £15,000 for Dear Toby Trust.
Next year’s fixture is already pencilled in, with the Flacks vowing to come back fighting, and hopefully turn the spin in their favour.
